(School canteen, community hall and community archive; Carouge, Switzerland, 2012)

A long and narrow site in the densest part of Carouge in Geneva seems to inexorably define an inconvenient wedge-like building geometry. Consciously breaking some existing zoning rules and sinking underground a large part of the programme, the project emerges as two dialoguing pavilions floating within a reconfigured pedestrianised environment. The school-related activities are located closer to the neighboring early 20th century school, whereas the community activities are situated at the heart of the new ensemble.
