Firstly as guests of artist Kohei Nawa in Kyoto at the Sandwich platform for contemporary art on 28th October 2010 at 19:00 (local time). Secondly during the Tokyo Designers Week at the Japain event on 30th October 2010 at 11:00 as guests of ICEX.
The modular partition system STICKINGRINGS will be exhibited at the INTERIEUR 2010 design biennale in Belgium (15th-24th October 2010). This system allows the creation of walls assembling its rings freely, intuitively and in a very fast way. The adjustable density and porosity of the resulting screen generates different degrees of privacy.
The competition entry developed in summer 2010 by kawamura-ganjavian, in collaboration with NOR architectes and ARUP, for a secondary school in Bassecourt, Switzerland, was awarded the 4th prize. The project is notable for its harmonious dialogue with the existing school building, its welcoming and warm atmosphere and the careful landscaping of the gardens and courtyards.
kawamura-ganjavian is pleased to announce the Architecture exhibition "Humanizar la Ciudad" in which the studio is participating with an installation entitled "Intimate Atomospheres". The exhibition is curated by Juan Mera and will take place at the Santa & Cole showroom in Madrid (C/Santiago Bernabéu 6). The opening ceremony will be on 6th October 2010 at 20:00.
BINPAN, designed by kawamura-ganjavian, has received the 3rd prize (Bronze Haechi) in the international contest "design for all" organized by designboom and the Seoul design fair 2010. 5175 designers from 103 countries participated in the contest. BINPAN is a dustbin when it stands up and a dustpan when it lies down; a very convenient hybrid for office and domestic environments.
kawamura-ganjavian, in collaboration with NOR architectes, submitted their entry for a multigenerational building in Gland, Switzerland. The project mixes housing for elderly and young together with a nursery, a health centre and a community room.
A series of CATERPILLAR benches, designed by kawamura-ganjavian, will be exhibited at the concept store Autour du Mond during the Maison&Objet domestic design fair in Paris between the 3rd and 5th September 2010.
kawamura-ganjavian have been invited to participate in Design Act giving a Master Class on the 1st September 2010 entitled "An excursion from the city to the tip of your finger". Design Act will take place between 31st August and 5th September 2010 in Moscow, Russia.

FUNNEL NECK is a bottle top that screws on conventional PET water bottles. We often forget to give a second life to many objects of daily consumption that surround us.
kawamura-ganjavian, together with Garrick Jones from Ludic Group, will be directing a creative workshop at the Strelka Institute for Media, Architecture and Design in Moscow between 31st May and 4th June 2010. This centre is a new multidisciplinary creativity educational hub that starts operating on the 24th May. The dean of its postgraduate programme is Rem Koolhaas. The theme of the workshop will pivet around the Red October Island, a post-industrial site in central Moscow where the Strelka Institute is located.
kawamura-ganjavian have been invited to give a masterclass on 27th May 2010 at the Design Boom space in Moscow, as part of the Spanish Design Festival in Russia (20th-27th May). This event will showcase prominent design companies and designers from Spain.
kawamura-ganjavian, in collaboration with Ramiro Losada, have been selected as finalists of the Saloni Architecture and Interiors prize for their contemporary art exhibition space Espacio Iniciarte. The winner will be announced on Thursday 3rd June 2010 at an awards ceremony in the Cataluña Congress Centre in Barcelona.
The exhibition "process as paradigm (art in development, flux and change)", curated by Susanne Jaschko and Lucas Evers, and designed by kawamura-ganjavian, opened on 23rd April 2010 at the LABoral art centre in Gijón, Spain. The space consists of a series of spatial clusters that articulate the display of art pieces and the flow of visitors. It will last until 30th August 2010.
