kawamura-ganjavian are participating as tutors of a design workshop at the ADSL week in the Artesis school in Antwerp, Belgium, between 7th-11th February 2011. Our project, entitled Congregation Catalogue, will be developed in collaboration with the artist Wesley Meuris. We are also giving a lecture at the Sint Lucas academy of art in Antwerp.
kawamura-ganjavian will be presenting the creative workshop "Sensing Again" which we will be running in late June 2011 at the Boisbuchet Summer Workshops programme. The presentation will be at Studio Banana (Madrid) on the 10th February 2011 at 20:00. In the same event Gala Fernández, director of the workshops programme, will be presenting the whole list of activities.

We are proud to announce that SCENTER and EARSHELL, two products designed by kawamura-ganjavian, will be exhibited at the Instant Design (Second Chapter: Usable Actions) show in the Triennale di Milano (Milan, Italy) between the 8th February and the 3rd April 2011. The exhibition is curated by Federica Sala and Michela Pelizzari.
kawamura-ganjavian presents GIRAFFE a portable spatial divider. Contemporary office spaces are based on the flexible open plan principle. However, this lay out jeopardizes individual space and dilutes group dynamics.
The ARQUIA-Proxima travelling exhibition will open at Lasalle University in Barcelona on 10th January 2011 till 4th February 2011. The exhibition, designed by kawamura-ganjavian in collaboration with Studio Banana, features a selection of recent Architecture graduates as well as the best projects built in the last two years by young architectural offices in Spain.
kawamura-ganjavian, tutors of architectural design at the IE Architecture School, will be travelling between 9th-14th January 2011 with their group of students through the Alentejo region in Portugal as part of an on-going territorial study and research into alternative applications of cork.
kawamura-ganjavian is pleased to announce that the Architecture exhibition "Humanizar la Ciudad", organized by Santa&Cole, in which the studio is participating with an installation entitled "Intimate Atomospheres", will travel to Barcelona after being exhibited in Madrid. It will open its doors at the beginning of February 2011 at their Santísima Trinidad del Monte showroom.
Contemporary domestic spaces tend to be sleek and cool but often miss cosy intimate corners. Oyster is a versatile piece of furniture. When folded it is a cushion, when unfolded it creates a cosy and comfortable private shelter.

Firstly as guests of artist Kohei Nawa in Kyoto at the Sandwich platform for contemporary art on 28th October 2010 at 19:00 (local time). Secondly during the Tokyo Designers Week at the Japain event on 30th October 2010 at 11:00 as guests of ICEX.
The modular partition system STICKINGRINGS will be exhibited at the INTERIEUR 2010 design biennale in Belgium (15th-24th October 2010). This system allows the creation of walls assembling its rings freely, intuitively and in a very fast way. The adjustable density and porosity of the resulting screen generates different degrees of privacy.
The competition entry developed in summer 2010 by kawamura-ganjavian, in collaboration with NOR architectes and ARUP, for a secondary school in Bassecourt, Switzerland, was awarded the 4th prize. The project is notable for its harmonious dialogue with the existing school building, its welcoming and warm atmosphere and the careful landscaping of the gardens and courtyards.

BINPAN, designed by kawamura-ganjavian, has received the 3rd prize (Bronze Haechi) in the international contest "design for all" organized by designboom and the Seoul design fair 2010. 5175 designers from 103 countries participated in the contest. BINPAN is a dustbin when it stands up and a dustpan when it lies down; a very convenient hybrid for office and domestic environments.
kawamura-ganjavian, in collaboration with NOR architectes, submitted their entry for a multigenerational building in Gland, Switzerland. The project mixes housing for elderly and young together with a nursery, a health centre and a community room.
