Its magical interactive glow and sleek design were conceived in collaboration with the Innovation Quarter at Bangor University (UK). "Unhide & Seek" workshop at VCU

We will be leading a multidisciplinary design workshop between 20th and 31st January 2014 at Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar. Students from different creative fields will be participating in an exploratory process we like calling "Unhide & Seek". Special thanks to Thomas Modeen.

elop*6 final review at Stanford

We are proud to announce the final review of the elop*6 project which we co-lead. It will take place on 24th January 2014 at the Palo Alto City Council. Under the title "Crossroads-Crossfunctions" the 45 international and transdisciplinary participating students have developed a repertoire of visionary solutions for a 21st century research park located between Stanford University and Palo Alto, at the heart of Silicon Valley. We will be participating also at an experts event on 25h January on the theme of transdisciplinary collaboration kindly organised by Swissnex San Francisco.

Crowd it up! at Global Entrepreneurship Week

elop*6 starts in Stanford

The 6th edition of elop*, the transdisciplinary graduate programme we co-direct with Kathrin Merz, had its kick-off at Stanford University in California between 5th and 13th October 2013. The 45 participating students from 7 different universities will be developing during the next 4 months a project for a new research park between Stanford and Palo Alto, at the heart of Silicon Valley.

elop* wins Credit Suisse Award for Best Teaching

We are very happy to announce that the programme elop* that we co-direct with Kathrin Merz has received the Credit Suisse Award for Best Teaching at the Bern University of Applied Sciences. Special thanks to all the people that make this innovative transdisciplinary programme possible. The award ceremony will take place at the Paul Klee Zentrum in Bern on 22nd October 2013.

Ciudad Abierta Workshop EPFL-Valparaíso

The first Ciudad Abierta workshop, culminating in an exhibition, has taken place at the EPFL School of Architecture in Lausanne. This project, directed by Patricia Guaita –associate of kawamura-ganjavian Switzerland, is a collaboration between the Valparaíso school in Chile and the EFPL. The participants explored the poetic notion of "travesías" as a way of approaching architectural conception.

Lecture at Stanford University

kawamura-ganjavian will be giving a lecture at the Architectural Design department in Stanford University (USA) about our approach to innovation and transdisciplinarity, and about the elop* educational program which we co-lead with Kathrin Merz. Lausanne Jardins 2014 award ceremony

The award ceremony and exhibition opening for the landscape festival Lausanne Jardins 2014, in which kawamura-ganjavian are collaborating as technical office, will take place on 15th April 2013 at the Pôle Museal (former train hangars) in Lausanne. The winning teams will be announced and we look forward to collaborating with them ahead of the festival which will take place in spring-summer 2014.

talk at Creative Mornings Geneva

kawamura-ganjavian have been invited to participate as guest speakers at the Creative Mornings Geneva chapter on Friday 25th January 2013. The event will take place at the Grütli theatre and start at 8:30. elop5 final review

The final review of the elop5 project, which kawamura-ganjavian co-lead together with Kathrin Merz at the Bern University of Applied Sciences, will take place in Cologne, Germany, on 16th January 2013. The theme of the semester has been Learning Environments: the conception of a future campus for the Cologne University of Applied Sciences. elop is an innovation-based transdisciplinary graduate program involving a network of 8 universities from Europe and North America.

La Verrerie project awarded 2nd prize

kawamura-ganjavian's entry for a school extension and sports hall in the village of La Verrerie in the canton of Fribourg (Switzerland) has been awarded a 2nd prize. The project, located in an agricultural rural environment, ties to the local tradition of large barnhouses making use of wood in a contemporary way.
