Sierre CFF complex

kawamura-ganjavian submitted their entry for a new complex at the CFF train station in Sierre, Switzerland. The project includes a bus station, a sports hall and a school.

MINI GIRAFFE

MINI GIRAFFE is an unusual magazine rack. Its triangular profile allows the magazines to be stacked in a very intuitive way and helps mark our favourite page. Mini Giraffe disappears underneath the stack of paper as if it weren’t there.

Design Thinking workshop at IE Business School

kawamura-ganjavian have lead a Design Thinking workshop entitled "Revolutionize your Space" within the International MBA course at the prestigious IE Business School in Madrid. The experimental session, which took place on 16th November 2011, consisted of a series of rapid prototyping exercises during which the students explored mini-architectural interventions in the space of the school.

TDW 2011

For the second year in a row kawamura-ganjavian have been present at the Tokyo Designers Week and Design Tide between 2nd and 9th november 2011, where we have had meetings with several companies innovating in the fields of product design, communication and architecture.

Lancy kindergarden 

kawamura-ganjavian submitted their entry for a new kindergarten in Lancy, Switzerland.

Teaching at EPFL school of architecture

kawamura-ganjavian have been appointed 1st year studio directors at the ALICE laboratory, the chair held by professor Dieter Dietz in the EPFL school of architecture in Lausanne. We are thrillled about this collaboration with one of the leading and most innovative academic centers in Europe, and look forward to an exciting academic experience with the students.

STICKINGSTICKS at London Designjunction

STICKINGSTICKS, the modular partition system designed by kawawamura-ganjavian and currently developed by Modus, has been used throughout the press office and VIP Suite at Designjunction during the London design Festival (17th-25th September 2011).

Winners of Gandía-Blasco design award

kawamura-ganjavian are proud to announce that our product IRIS louver has won the first prize in the Gandía-Blasco design award. The award ceremony will take place on the 21st September 2011 at 20:00 in the Gandía Blasco showroom in Valencia, during the Valencia Design Week. IRIS louver is an adjustable modular louver system that filters light in a hypnotic way.

La Heitera Primary school extension

kawamura-ganjavian submitted their entry for a new primary school extension, in Fribourg, Switzerland.

Talk to Me exhibition at MoMA New York

kawamura-ganjavian are glad to announce their participation at the exhibition Talk to Me which will take place at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City between 24th July and 7th November 2011. The show, curated by Paola Antonelli, elaborates on the theme of communication between people and objects.

SENSING AGAIN

kawamura-ganjavian have been tutors of the workshop "Sensing Again" as part of the Boisbuchet Summer Workshops programme. The workshop took place in the Domaine de Boisbuchet in Lessac, France, between 27th June and 1st July 2011 and had participants from Mexico, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, Czech Republic and Brazil.

The theme relates to an exploration of non-visual perception and how non-visual experiences may influence contemporary design. kawamura-ganjavian would like to thank Gala Fernández (educational programme director), all the staff and Alexander von Vegesack (founder) for their hospitality.

Renens primary school

kawamura-ganjavian submitted their entry for a primary school extension, in Renens, Switzerland.

Vevey multifunctional building

kawamura-ganjavian submitted their entry for a multifunctional building consisting of kindergarten, commercial and office space, in Vevey, Switzerland.

Exhibition at IaaC

kawamura-ganjavian is pleased to announce the Architecture exhibition "Humanizar la Ciudad" which it was exhibited in Madrid last fall. The studio is participating with an installation entitled "Intimate Atomospheres". The exhibition is curated by Juan Mera and will take place at the IaaC (Instituto de Arquitectura Avanzada de Cataluña) in Barcelona. (Calle Pujades, 102). The opening ceremony will be on 9th June 2011 at 19:30.
