kawamura-ganjavian, coordinators of the European Design Labs09 master course, will be participating with the group of students in aresearch trip to Basel and Frankfurt between 11th-19th June 2009, where they will be exploring Art Basel, Design Miami and Material Vision.

kawamura-ganjavian have been selected as finalists of the Saloni Architecture and Interiors prize for their refurbishment project Studio Banana. The winner will be announced next Friday 4th June 2009 at an awards ceremony in the Cataluña Congress Palace in Barcelona.

kawamura-ganjavian are participating as tutors in the self-organised creativity workshop DIY Studio in the Centro Cultural Parque de España in Rosario (Argentina) between the 26th and the 29th May 2009.

kawamura-ganjavian have been invited by Mark Dytham, inventor of the Pecha Kucha movement, to participate in the first Pecha Kucha Night Bilbao which will take place on Friday 15th May 2009 at 20:30 in the Guggenheim Museum.

The project Locutorio Colón by kawamura-ganjavian in collaboration with Maki Portilla-Kawamura and Tadanori Yamaguchi, has been featured in the book Madrid Abierto 2004-2008, edited by Jorge Díez.

kawamura-ganjavian, coordinators of the European Design Labs09 master course, are participating with Luis Úrculo and the 18 students of the course in a research trip to Istanbul between 5th-13th March 2009, where they will be participating in the City and Art seminar.

kawamura-ganjavian, in collaboration with Ramiro Losada, have designed the Iniciarte (Andalucía regional government arts programme) stand in ARCO'09, the Madrid contemporary art fair which was open to the public between the 11th and the 16th february 2009. The space was visited by tens of thousands of visitors and received very positive critics in different media.
